Don’t want to gross anyone out, but—here’s where I’m at…
To recap—crushed hand under some barn boards,
needed surgery~had surgery, lots of pain and seriously watching clock for next pain pill.
4 days in, figured out bandages were too tight~got loosened and things were markedly improved.
9 days post surgery, necessary flight out East,
1st TSA agent encountered accidentally hit finger trying to help me~ couldn’t breathe, almost cried, more pain, and now nauseous.
Saw Dr upon return~ screw held, sutures held, a little bleeding, but—okay.
VERY interesting to travel. . . . . –just function– ONE HANDED.
Stitches come out this Friday on schedule, then move to a soft splint and therapy soon after.
SO nice to have FRESH bandages,
AND to get to see healing, progress—
and a straight finger again!
*hope the pictures don’t gross you out.
Maybe just EXIT now!
I’ll totally understand. . .
I love seeing surgery photos! I’ve been waiting, and hoping I didn’t have to beg you to show me!! ; ) Looks like it hurt like a son of a gun, and don’t let anyone tell you it shouldn’t hurt – look at that huge screw in your bone! That takes a long time to heal and quit hurting! It just takes as long as it takes. I’ve had 13 foot surgeries, and have several metal pieces in my feet – it is all good now, and I don’t regret a thing. Good luck healing and with your therapy!

Ouch!!! Glad to hear you are on the mend. Hands/fingers are tricky….looks like you have good Doc who knew their stuff and you have a good outcome. Thought of you all w/e at Three Speckled Hens Show in Paso Robles, CA. I took some quick pictures but you can check things out @ their web site during your recovery. It is 2x’s/year….usually 1st w/e in April and again in Oct. Think about joining us sometime. We would love it!! Saw our exact feedsacks there at several booths….everyone selling @$25. p.s. What was the name of the show/flea market in WI mid-Sept that I missed this year. Do you know when it will be in 2016? (Must submit vacation “wish list” now.) Please keep in touch, Karen L.

Glad you are recovering. I am jealous of your long beautiful nails. I can’t grow them since mine are paper thin and break off. I’m heading to Kansas for a week to visit my son. Yea

I totally love gross photos like this. I’ve been itching to see exactly what the damage/repair looked like underneath your bandage. The addition of the x-rays put this over the top!
