I guess she’s flexing her muscles again to show us who’s Boss.
This is what it looked like heading for bed last night.
Very strange light, NOT the usual pitch-dark of night. And we woke to about 4″ of snow. Wet and heavy. (Good for snow men.) Thank goodness the neighbor has a new snow-blowing toy–and cleared the driveway–YAY!
I’ve caught a MAJOR head cold, and only have ambition to. . . .aaack, who am I kidding, I DON’T HAVE ANY AMBITION. And my head is certainly not clear enough to be running any power tools right now anyway (I LIKE my fingers).
So let me show off some recently found items!
–Bought these!
I know, I know– really Catherine, more chairs? They were only $15 each –I couldn’t help myself–!
The clock was a black-brown finish that got hit with kilz before a camera got near it–sorry. I scuffed it up a bit and used dark wax on it. I’m hunting for properly scaled clock hands.
I found the grain sack at The Salvation Army with the chairs. It was $3. Clearly, they didn’t know what it was. It’s too “white,” so I’ll tea stain it.
The silver came from an antique mall (I never go in those–don’t know what possessed me), and the Thrift Shoppe. $12 for the service ware, $7 for the bowl! Can you EVER have enough silver!?
Found an old chair and ottoman at the ReStore–$20. Immediately pilfered off the 6-total feet, and the “paw” hand-holds! The rest, to the curb.
–Saw these cool things (while I was picking up the others)!
- Totally in love with that work bench! No idea of their price, they removed it while it’s on hold.
- Would have loved to buy the carved wood deer head or the Santos–but they were super expensive.
- A&W–?! When I saw those mugs, I remember thinking, “Aww, now I want a rootbeer float!”
- I took a picture of the Route 66 sign because I loved its shape and I could recreate that in wood! Make it BIG, attach it to a tall post! Give it some great, famous street name!
- The sewing machine just made me smile! The picture doesn’t do it justice–it was sooo clever!
Love the chairs and clock and the deer head is to die for.

I have a major chair addiction myself. They multiply like rabbits, don’t they? Love what you did with the banquette and your shield back chairs. Feel better.
